Love is in the air … but it’s not just for two

This year, why not spread the love beyond Valentine’s Day with a whole day of family fun, including an amazing Lion Learners experience!

Of course, romantic meals with that special someone are important. But Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be about couples. Family Valentine’s celebrations are becoming increasingly popular and are the perfect chance to spend time together.

There are loads of things you can do, from baking and crafts to an unforgettable family experience. Here are some of our favourite activities for a fun-filled day:

1. Get crafty

Kick off the day by getting into the spirit of Valentine’s with some arts and crafts. Set the kids a task to create decorations for your home. You can then use them as a backdrop for a family photobooth where you can take amusing pics to remember the day.

2. Bake up a storm

Next, it’s time to whip up a recipe of love! From heart-shaped biscuits to decorating fairy cakes with red sprinkles, there are lots of recipes online for easy Valentine’s Day goodies. Get the kids involved with weighing out ingredients and give them free reign with the decorating. It might get a bit messy, but it will be great fun!

3. Hunt for treasure

After all that baking, it’s good to stretch everyone’s legs and what better way than with a treasure hunt! Make it harder for older kids with tricky riddles to solve or, if you prefer less preparation, a simple scavenger hunt is always a hit. Simply hide things round the home for the kids to find, and sit back with a cup of tea while they search for clues.

4. Go wild with a treat for the whole family

An amazing family experience is a great way to spread the love to grandparents, uncles, aunties and cousins. But organising an an activity that appeals to all ages is not always easy. This is where Lion Learners can help!

If you’re animal lovers, a Lion Learners family experience is the perfect treat for everyone, from 1 year olds to 100 year olds!

During the experience, your home will be transformed into a mini zoo. Giving your family the chance to meet, handle and learn about marvellous mammals, remarkable reptiles and magical minibeasts from around the world.

It’s an amazing, unique and unforgettable experience where you can meet slithery snakes, awesome lizards, cuddly rabbits, cute tortoises, and much, much more  – all from the comfort of your sofa! And there’s no mess as we bring floor and table covers to protect your home!

All our presenters are friendly and knowledgeable, and we have lots of extra safety measures in place. This includes taking lateral flow tests before we visit and strict cleaning protocols. Making a Lion Learners experience a brilliant, safe and exciting way to bring the family together.

5. Snuggle up and watch a film

After all that excitement, it’s time to chill. So, pull on your PJs, grab some of your freshly baked goodies and curl up together on the sofa with a fun family film! Great choices for Valentine’s Day include Gnomeo and Juliet, Beauty and Beast, The Princess Bride, and Lady and the Tramp.

Are you having a family Valentine’s celebration? If you’re happy to share, we’d love to see some of your pictures! You never know, your celebrations may inspire someone else, which all helps to spread the love J
