Covid Safety

Home / Covid Safety

Great news, our educational and ethical experiences have reopened!

We can’t wait to see you again!

We’ve made some changes to keep you safe, but the awe and excitement of seeing the animals remains the same.

Here’s how we’re keeping you safe:

New, covid-safe experiencesWe’re excited to offer a choice of new, covid-safe encounters, which let children meet amazing animals in a safe and socially distanced way.
These include no contact school visits, virtual educational workshops and bubble garden parties. If socially-distanced animal handling is possible, animals will be wiped with a damp cloth before your visit, as recommend by the Pet Federation.

Presenters trained in covid-19 disease control All our presenters have completed the Pet Federation Course: Covid 19: Disease Control for Pet Professionals and will be taking appropriate measures to keep you safe.

Clean, disinfected equipment

All kit will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before visits with an appropriate anti-viral disinfectant.

Only one booking per day

We will only be taking one booking a day to ensure we have time to clean and disinfect between visits.

Comprehensive risk assessments

We will send you a detailed risk assessment before your visit. This will let you know what to expect on the day, covering every step of the visit, from arrival to when we leave. It will also set out any pre and post visit requirements that you may need to do.

Protective equipment

Masks, visors and table coverings will be used, where appropriate, to prevent transmission. We will also bring our own pet-safe viral disinfectant for cleaning any surfaces that come into contact with an animal.

Vigorous hygiene standards

Presenters will wash their hands and use hand sanitiser regularly throughout their visit. Anyone handling animals will be expected to clean their hands after every contact with an animal.

Government approved experiences

Our new experiences have been created in-line with government guidelines, and we’ll be following their advice vigilantly, adapting to changes as they happen. We will let you know as soon as possible if any new rules affect your visit.

Safeguarding for virtual sessions

We follow strict protocol for virtual sessions, which will be agreed with you prior to booking.  A teacher is required to be present during the entire virtual workshop.
