For out of school clubs, holiday clubs, brownies, guides, cubs, scouts, youth clubs and other organisations we offer informative, memorable and exciting activities for children of all ages to enjoy. The children can meet all the animals close up, handle them and learn all about them. We have a good range of small animals, whether you’re in to the cute and cuddly, or the weird and wonderful creepy crawlies and reptiles, there is something for everyone.
If the children attending your club are of varying ages, this is a great activity to bring them together, it’s something everyone enjoys, the younger ones take the older children’s lead, and the older children can be really good at helping the little ones out.
Lion Learners can help your brownies achieve their Friend to Animals badge. We will visit your group for a 1 hour session. During the session the girls will get the opportunity to interact with and learn about animals from all over the world with everything from snakes to snails and even get up close to our tarantula. We can help to cover many of the objectives required for the Friend to Animals badge. Just talk to us about your requirements and we will tailor the session for you.
For the Cub Scout Animal Carer Activity Badge, we can help achieve some of the objectives. The cubs can find out about 7 or 8 different animals, their feeding habits and natural behaviour, and they will also have the opportunity to handle these animals. We can also talk about conservation and the dangers affecting similar animals in the wild.
During a one hour experience, you are likely to meet between six and nine animals, depending on the group. Animals are likely to include rabbits, guinea pigs, snake, lizard and some weird and wonderful creepy crawlies.
Each presenter has their own animals, who live at the presenters’ home. To find out which animals your local presenter has, please visit their presenter page by visiting the Book Now page. Please feel free to make a request for a particular animal, and if it is possible for the animal to be there, then it will be.
